Airbnb x Milano Cortina Olympics 2026

THE TEAM AT AIRBNB REACHED OUT WHEN IT WAS TIME TO THEM TO BUILD A CAMPAIGN TARGETING THEIR ITALIAN MARKET FOR THE 2026 MILANO CORTINA WINTER OLYMPICS.

THOUGH A FEW ROUNDS OF APPROVALS AND BUDGET REALITIES, WE LANDED ON A SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN THAT WOULD HIGHLIGHT SIX SPECIFIC HOSTS IN THE THREE REGIONS WHERE THE OLYPICS WOULD TAKE PLACE: LOMBARDY, TRENTINO ALTO ADIGE AND VENETO.

ITALIANS ARE CONSIDERED THE BEST HOSTS WORLDWIDE. SO WHY NOT LET THEM BE THE ONES WELCOMING FANS ALL OVER THE WORLD?

THE AIM OF THE CAMPAIGN WAS TO GIVE THE SPOTLIGHT TO UNIQUE HOSTS, AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCES AND ACCOMMODATIONS, AND HIGHLIGHTING OFF-THE-BEATEN-TRACK AREAS TO AVOID FEEDING INTO OVERTOURISM.

The Airbnb team reached out as they began developing a campaign for the Italian market ahead of the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.

After several rounds of approvals and navigating budget realities, we landed on a social media–led campaign spotlighting six distinctive hosts across the three regions hosting the Games: Lombardy, Trentino Alto Adige, and Veneto.

Italians are widely regarded as some of the best hosts in the world—so who better to welcome fans traveling TO THE GAMES?

The campaign aimed to celebrate unique hosts, authentic experiences, and standout accommodations, while also promoting lesser-known destinations to help ease overtourism and encourage more mindful travel.

Alonside leading this campaign, i overlooked and supported another experiential campaign the airbnb team worked on for the olympics: casa airbnb.
Casa Airbnb is a special hospitality and community space open in Milan during the Olympic Games. it is a public venue (not just a place to stay) designed to bring together travelers, locals, and Olympic fans from all over the world to celebrate the Games, offering different experiences, watch parties, and catering.

My role in this project was overlooking the visual identity and interior choices, making sure not only it looked good, but that it was true and authentic to italian culture.
